I just saw on ESPN that Gary Carter passed away.
As a kid my Great Aunt Doris passed on to me her love of the Mets. Gary Carter was my favorite. On a team of misfits and, well a-holes, he was always a gentleman a true competitor. He was the inspiration for my love and collecting of catchers.
He has a huge legacy in the game and a huge presence on cardboard.
I have mentioned a few times and now more than ever this is one of my favorite cards.
The Kid will be missed.
