Finally something worth cheering about…

It has not been the best season for the boys from the Twins cities. On the field they have been abysmal. The only thing keeping them form being the worst team in all of baseball is the fact the Astros are slightly worse. It seems just about everyone on the team has been injured or ill.

Morneau, the one time MVP and MVP runner up is continuing to battle the effects of a concussion. He has been up and down all year and the Twins finally put him on ice. I say that’s the right call. Let him go recovery completely so he can be ready in the spring.

Mauer is a mystery. Since moving into the new stadium he has been a shadow of his former self. You have to wonder if there is some larger problem. I say he and Morneau move back into their old house and step back form the spot light, get back to their small market roots.

It’s not all bad news for the Twinkies. September call ups have brought us a nice little gem in the form of one Mr. Crhis Parmelee.

Chris was the twins first round pick in ’06 hoping to find their next middle of the line-up power guy. he has spent his time in the minors and it seems to has paid off. In his first weeks he is doing very well. He has 9 RBIs, 2 HRs in just 13 games. He is also hitting around .380. Granted this is just a small snap shot but it gives us hope.

As with all Twins prospects i have been picking up his cards over the last few years. Here are a few of the highlights.

I think this one is my favorite.
There is something cool about his name across the back of his jersey.

I need to pick up one of his ’06 Sterling autos, so if anyone has one for trade let me know.
