Holy monster trade…

Last night news broke of a monster trade between the Yanks and Mariners. The Yanks sent super backstop prospect Jesus Montero and a pitching prospect to the Mariners for young super star hurler Michael Pineda.

The Yankees have been noticeably quiet this off-season. They more than made up for that lack of action here. Pineda is one of the most exciting young pitchers, a potential long term solution for their starting rotation.

It has to hurt a little to lose Jesus but with Russell Martin and Austin Romaine on the team catcher is not a huge concern. On the flip side pitching is always a concern.

A very exciting trade all around.

Card wise this can only help Pineda’s cardboard. His stuff already had swagger and nothing boost interest like pinstripes.
